The Worldwide Governance Indicators: Methodology and Analytical Issues

The World Bank's Worldwide Governance Indicators (WGI) project cover over 200 countries and territories, measuring six dimensions of governance: Voice and Accountability, Political Stability and Absence of Violence/Terrorism, Government Effectiveness, Regulatory Quality, Rule of Law, and Control of Corruption. Attached here are both the 2010 dataset comprising the Indicators, as well as a policy paper outlining the methodology behind them, co-authored by Daniel Kaufmann, Aart Kraay, and Massimo Mastruzzi under the aegis of the World Bank Development Research Group.
