The International Council on Minerals and Metals (ICMM) provides this interpretive guide for its member companies, to help them develop their sustainability report and engage with assurance providers. Released in 2008, the ICMM Assurance Procedure outlines the commitment of its company members to obtain independent external assurance of the other two elements of ICMM’s Sustainable Development Framework, namely: (i) implementing and measuring performance against the ten ICMM SD principles, and (ii) public reporting of performance in line with the Global Reporting Initiative’s Sustainability Reporting Guidelines and
the Mining and Metals Sector Supplement.
