U.S. Senator Richard Lugar (R-Ind.) notes RWI's exceptional efforts in securing the new extractive industry reporting requirements in the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act, for all U.S. and foreign companies registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Dear Ms. Lissakers:

I write to thank you for your exceptional support in passage of the Cardin-Lugar extractive industry transparency amendment. I am confident that this legislation will enable tremendous humanitarian, governance, and security benefits. From imposing sanctions on the Apartheid regime in South Africa, to funding the dismantlement of nuclear weapons in the former Soviet Union, I know firsthand that passing game-changing legislation takes determination and diplomacy. Support of dedicated individuals and their organizations is a vital piece of success. Your efforts will demonstrably improve the lives of millions of people living in countries that are rich with resources yet mired in the deepest poverty, as well as your fellow Americans, for decades to come.

Thank you for your dedication to this issue and for your commitment to improving the lives of those most in need. I wish you every success in the years ahead.

Sincerely,

Richard G. Lugar
United States Senator
