The 26 January conference, Translating Mineral Resource Wealth into Real Development for Africa, focused on good governance, investment and infrastructure and geological skills and knowledge. Attendees included government representatives from mining countries, industry officials, civil society and development groups.
Kuyole, RWI's Africa regional coordinator, spoke with Tearfund, a faith-based group whose "Unearth the Truth" campaign highlights the impact of secrecy and corruption in the oil, gas and mining industries on citizens of developing nations.
