AUDIO: Experts Discuss Nigeria's Progress on Transparency
On April 6, two leaders in Nigeria's transparency effort and an expert on the politics of oil in Nigeria joined Revenue Watch for a discussion of the nation's progress to promote transparency and stability in the volatile Niger Delta region.
Dimieari Von Kemedi, head of the Due Process and e-Governance Bureau for Bayelsa State and chairman of the Baylesa State Expenditure and Transparency Initiative (BEITI), and Asume Isaac Osuoka, director of Social Action and founder of the Niger Delta Citizens and Budget Platform, are longtime advocates for transparency reform and the proper management of of natural resource revenues. Alexandra Gillies of the University of Cambridge is a Fulbright Fellow to Nigeria and co-editor of Smart Aid for African Development. The discussion among these distinguished guest was moderated by Revenue Watch Senior Economist Antoine Heuty
