PWYP Transparency Campaign in Tanzania

The Concern for Development Initiatives in Africa (ForDIA) promotes good governance and anti-corruption through research, training and advocacy work in Tanzania. Though interfaith leaders have been working on public advocacy for better management of mineral resources, no nationwide effort existed previously. With support from RWI, ForDIA has been working to mobilize and help coordinate Tanzania’s Publish What You Pay coalition.

In addition to organizing discussions on new mining legislation and contract transparency, ForDIA has also conducted a media campaign and other public outreach to influence policy and legal reforms. PWYP Tanzania is governed by a 15 member steering committee.

The Concern for Development Initiatives in Africa (ForDIA) facilitates people-centred development initiatives within local conditions through research, training, advocacy and consultancies.
