Implementation of PWYP Cameroon 2007 Action Plan
Through Catholic Relief Services Cameroon and the national PWYP Coalition, RWI provided financial support in collaboration with the World Bank's Development Grant Facility for the implementation of the campaign's 2007 national action plan. RWI support is intended to help improve the ability of Cameroonian civil society to contribute actively to the sustainable management and utilization of extractive revenues for poverty reduction. The action plan focuses on strengthening civil society organizations' ability to collect reliable information, advocate effectively for transparency and good governance, and ensure their own financial sustainability. Primary activities include training sessions for various actors in the EITI, production of high-quality research and documentation, and public awareness activities on extractives revenues and their use for poverty reduction. This project notably addresses several program objectives of the DGF including: training on EITI principles and criteria; validation processes and EITI reports; information gathering and knowledge dissemination about issues surrounding the extractive industries; encouraging multi-stakeholder debate; and increasing coordination and sustainability of CSO's participating in EITI.

Financial Summary
Revenue Watch and our partners engage in increasingly diverse forms of public finance monitoring, including service delivery, participatory budgeting, and aid and expenditure tracking. Our partners are coalescing into an indigenous-led network of non-governmental organizations at the forefront of the battle against corruption and abuse of the public interest.
Grant-making is RWI's primary tool for engaging civil society in resource-rich countries and is an important means to motivate, support and build grassroots movements that create sustained local and international demand for revenue and expenditure transparency.
RWI takes a comprehensive approach to improving governance and development across the entire value chain, from the organization of extractive production, revenue generation, and revenue management, and through to the expenditure processes and national development outcomes.
